I was a USAF Green Hornet Door Gunner on UH-1N's supporting the MACV SOG teams in Loas and Cambodia 71-72 and a AC-130 Spectre gunner in 72-73. We also flew in support of Marine Recon in the DaNang area several times. I have a web site www.thecarman.com that has a short history of SOG and sound clips of an attempted rescue of a SOG team in Cambodia on 23 Jan 72. You can hear the crews intercom, FAC, other gunbirds, gun firing, rockets firing, and ground fire hitting my bird. Audio's and Video's are available. Keep em flying. Jim

Just revisiting site. I added a message back in December when my son had only been gone to Boot Camp about one week. He now has graduated and is a United State Marine. What ahing graduation and participating in the activities at the MCRD in San Diego. He stands taller (25lbsethinner) and prouder than I have ever seen him. I never truly knew what honer, courage and commitment meant until my son went through this incredible experience. I personally look at the world in a new and different light and understand what those of you "few & proud" men and women are doing to make my life as a US citizen greater. The Marines are truly the best branch of our armed forces and my hat is off to all of you past and present serving this country on my behalf. Right now....I'm just enjoying having him home on leave! I've sent and received e-mails from others visiting this site and love to hear experiences of either Marines or parents, so drop a line if you find some time. Thanks, Jill
